How PRP Works For Non-Surgical Hair Restoration
Dream Spa Medical uses an innovative technology called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in order to non-surgically implant your body’s own growth factors to areas of hair loss and stimulate hair growth in these regions. PRP is able to restore hair growth for clients who have the following conditions:
- Male Pattern Hair Loss – especially in the early stages of balding, or anytime there is a lot of thinning hair on the scalp
- Female Pattern Hair Loss – at all stages of hair loss
- Hypotrichosis (fine/reduced hairs) of the eyebrows or beard
- Alopecia Areata (bald patches on the head or beard)
- Metabolic causes of hair loss – iron deficiency and medication induced hair loss
- Chemotherapy induced hair loss
How PRP Works For Non-Surgical Hair Restoration
PRP is a nutrient rich substance produced by the body and can be extracted by drawing a small amount of blood (a blood sample equivalent to approximately the amount required to a basic lab test) and putting it into a special centrifuge that spins the blood at the necessary speed to separate out the PRP.
The PRP is then injected into the scalp in order to infuse nutrients and growth factors into hair follicles. This application causes miniaturized hair follicles to become healthier and larger, producing more robust hair growth. If used in combination with specialized homecare products (provided by Dream Spa Medical), incredible results can be achieved.
The recovery from PRP Injections requires very minimal downtime. Mild soreness of the treated area(s) occurs immediately after the treatment. This is normal and will resolve within 2-6 hours.
In order to achieve optimal results, 3 treatments are recommended spaced out 1 month apart. Home-care is required, provided by Dream Spa Medical, and includes; 1 CIT Roller by Environ, and 1 Hair & Scalp Tonic by Environ. New hair growth can be seen as early as 2 weeks (if using homecare products in conjunction with treatment), but is typically evident between 5-8 months and will continue to improve up to a year after treatment.
