Tattoo Removal
Whether you regret your tattoo or not, it will always carry a stigma. Immediate judgment is made when a tattoo is revealed. Many work places have bans on body art and piercings within their dress code. In a recent survey by Careerbuilder.com, 31 percent of managers said that visible tattoos can have a negative impact on their decision whether to hire someone. Tattoos significantly limit the chances of a job opportunity in a professional setting.
The sad truth is that although your close friends and relatives may be accepting of your tattoos, society is not always.
- Studies have shown that over half of those without a tattoo (54%) believe that someone with a tattoo is more rebellious.
- 47% of people without tattoos, say people with tattoos are less attractive.
- Two in five (39%) of those without a tattoo say people with a tattoo are less sexy.
- One-quarter of those without tattoos, say those with tattoos are less intelligent (27%) and less healthy (25%).
In 2006, Northwestern University researchers conducted a study of 500 people ages 18 to 50 and found that about 25 percent of them had tattoo regret. Years have gone by and these numbers have drastically increased as tattoo removal has become an option. More than half reported that they “suffered embarrassment.” Tattoos have always been controversial and always will be. Good news is that tattoo removal is possible!
